Language stay for teenagers – teens from all over the world!
From Sunday 23 June – Saturday 17 August 2019
Since 1996 LSF has organised French language stays for teenagers (11-16) in Montpellier. This Learn French for Juniors package is a unique formula in Montpellier which only our French language school offers and is a programme specially devised for young people coming to France for a fun and safe French study holiday.
In our all-inclusive French vacation courses Juniors and teens from all over the world enjoy an unforgettable stay in the sunny south of France. The language stay includes French lessons in the mornings, accommodation in a host family or student residence (with full-board) and a fully supervised afternoon and evening activity and excursion programme.
LSF organises the best programme for Juniors and teenagers, all with 24/7 supervision!
Our French language stay for teenagers is available all-inclusive, with just the French course and activity/excursion programme, or with only the French course. This also makes it a popular option for whole families to come to LSF Montpellier, improve their French and discover the wonderful region of the south of France together.
Our Junior School
Our Junior school is located in a private French school, the Ecole Saint-François Régis, that LSF uses exclusively for the summer. It is located rue Plantade, in the heart of Montpellier’s historical centre and 5mn from our Adult school. Students have everything they need to learn French in the best conditions and to make the most of their language stay in the south of France, with great facilities:
- 12 fully-equipped, spacious light classrooms
- A wide enclosed courtyard for exclusive LSF use where students can safely relax during break times with friends and enjoy the many sunny days in the south of France.
- A canteen where the students have their lunch after class weekdays (pizza, quiche, croque-monsieur, salad or sandwich)
The French courses the students participate in consist of 20 lessons per week with a possibility to add 4 additional one-to-one lessons per week in the afternoons.
All teachers are experienced, enthusiastic and use fun and interactive teaching methods to help the students get the most out of their stay with us. We use an integrated communicative approach in our teaching, which focuses on the student and his/her environment. Particular attention is paid to improving speaking and listening skills, through role-plays, discussions, video and songs, activities, etc.
Our teachers use a wide range of teaching materials and bespoke numerical and computing materials. Our classrooms are all equipped with an interactive flat panel which make our lessons authentic and current, lively and of course interactive. We also have access to several computer rooms where students can prepare presentations and projects, or do group work.
The maximum class size for French summer courses is 15, and the minimum stay is one week. The language levels (Common European Framework) available for the Junior courses are A1, A2, B1, B2. One lesson = 45 minutes.
During our French language stay for teenagers in Montpelier, the students have the possibility to stay in a French Host Family or in a Student Residence.
French Host Family
Staying in a French Host Family provides a complete French immersion experience and is the best way for students to improve their French during the stay with LSF. Staying with a French host family does not only give the students a great opportunity to discover the French way of life but also gives them additional opportunities to practice their French while sharing the meals with the family. Junior students may stay in twin rooms with one of our carefully selected host families. Most of the families have been hosting students for many years and know very familiar with the experience the young students are living. The families live very close to the Junior language school or just a short bus- or tram-ride away.
LSF junior students aged 14+ have the possibility to stay at the Student Residence in single-bed or twins studios. The studio has its own fully equipped kitchenette, en-suite shower, toilet and washbasin, as well as bed, desk and wardrobe. General facilities include a common room with hot and cold drinks and snacks dispenser, a study-area, a light and spacious patio with tables and chairs and a laundry. LSF staff stay permanently in the residence, which means students receive excellent supervision and welfare, and a curfew is applicable to all students.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided either at the LSF centre, which is just a short walk away, or in local cafés and restaurants. LSF staff supervises the students at all times. Packed lunches are provided at the weekends.
